Train the team you already have. Government-funded.
Apprenticeships aren't just for new starters. Eligible existing employees can gain accountancy, IT, AI or data skills on the job, with the training funded through the levy or government co-investment. We check eligibility before you commit to anything.

Existing staff are funded the same way as new apprentices. Here's how.
For new starts from August 2026, government pays 100% of the training and assessment cost if you don't pay the levy, or your levy funds have run out. Most of the vacancies we fill qualify.
Plus a £2,000 hiring payment for non-levy employers from October 2026.Government pays the other 95% of the training and assessment cost directly to Solveway. You pay the apprentice's wages as you would any employee.
The training is paid from your levy account. We help you set up the apprenticeship service account and reserve the funds. If your funds run out, 16 to 24-year-olds are still fully funded; for over-25s you contribute 25%.
Funding rules are set by the Department for Education and change each August; we confirm what applies to your business on the first call. Figures reflect the apprenticeship funding rules for August 2026 to July 2027.
It's more than a course. It's the right skills for the people you've already got.
We start with your team, not a catalogue. We'll look at what each person already does, what they need to learn and whether an apprenticeship is the right route. If it is, we'll handle funding, prior-learning checks and the paperwork, and deliver the training around their working week.
“Leaders work very effectively with employers… Employers value the skills apprentices develop and their contribution to the businesses.”Check eligibility

Questions employers ask us.
Apprenticeships aren't one-size-fits-all. Here are the questions employers ask us first about existing staff.
Can we use apprenticeships to train existing employees?
Yes. Apprenticeships can support eligible existing employees who need substantial new skills for their role. We discuss prior learning, their job responsibilities and the right training programme before recommending a route.
Does an existing employee need to change job to do an apprenticeship?
No. They need to be gaining substantial new skills for their role, and the apprenticeship has to be relevant to the job they do. We check this with you before recommending a programme.
How does apprenticeship funding work?
Most of the training cost is paid by government. Apprentices aged 16 to 24 are fully funded for non-levy employers; for older apprentices non-levy employers contribute 5%; levy-paying employers use their levy. We work with you to confirm exactly what applies to your business before you commit to anything.
What if we don't know which apprenticeship is right?
That's fine. Tell us what skills or roles you need to develop. We'll talk through the options and whether an apprenticeship is the right route.
What happens after we send an enquiry?
A member of our employer team calls you within one working day to discuss your team, suitable programmes and next steps. An enquiry doesn't commit you to anything.
Can Solveway help us recruit a new apprentice too?
Yes. Our employer team can help you define the role, advertise the opportunity, screen applicants and prepare a shortlist. We also support the apprenticeship training and onboarding process.
