Role Overview

  • Assist with the diagnosis and resolution of hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  • Provide first-line technical support to users via telephone, email, remote access, and ticketing systems.
  • Support the installation, configuration, and maintenance of desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and networking equipment.
  • Assist with the setup and administration of user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
  • Support the monitoring and maintenance of client networks, servers, and cloud-based systems.
  • Assist with routine system updates, security checks, backups, and preventative maintenance activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of support requests, technical documentation, and completed work within the service management system.
  • Escalate complex technical issues to senior engineers where appropriate.
  • Support network infrastructure projects, including switch, router, wireless, and connectivity deployments.
  • Develop an understanding of cybersecurity best practices and assist with maintaining secure IT environments.
  • Deliver excellent customer service while communicating professionally with clients and colleagues.

Training to be Provided

This apprenticeship will provide comprehensive training aligned with the Level 3 Information Communications Technician apprenticeship standard (Networking Path). You will gain practical experience and develop technical competencies through on-the-job learning, supported by off-the-job training, mentoring from experienced IT professionals, and formal training modules.
