Role Overview

  • Prepare monthly payrolls, including RTI submissions.
  • Prepare CIS and VAT returns, and perform bookkeeping using platforms like QuickBooks, Xero, and Sage.
  • Manage all aspects of accounts up to Trial Balance for owner-managed limited companies and sole traders.
  • Prepare Self-Assessment Returns and Sole Trader Accounts.
  • Assist with the preparation of year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
  • Handle client correspondence, assist clients with various queries, and communicate with HMRC as required.
  • Help streamline clients' business and accounting processes.
  • Perform ad-hoc administrative tasks.

Training to be Provided

This apprenticeship will provide comprehensive training towards a Level 4 AAT qualification. You will receive structured off-the-job training, mentorship from experienced professionals, and practical, hands-on experience in all aspects of accountancy, ensuring you develop a robust skill set for your career.

Desired Skills

Previous experience within an accountancy practice.Familiarity and proficiency with various accounting platforms such as QuickBooks, SAGE, VT, Xero, and TaxCalc.Familiarity and proficiency with automated bookkeeping/data entry platforms such as Receipt Bank and Autoentry.Confident and motivated professional with a strong work ethic.Excellent communication skills for client and HMRC interactions.Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Qualifications

  • Part qualified or qualified by experience in accountancy is preferred.
