Assistant Accountant Apprentice
Role Overview
- Assist with basic bookkeeping tasks, including data entry and transaction recording.
- Upload and organise receipts, invoices, and financial documents using accounting software.
- Support the reconciliation of bank and credit card statements under guidance.
- Help maintain accurate financial records for clients.
- Assist in the preparation of VAT return workings by gathering relevant documents.
- Support the entry of purchase and sales invoices into accounting systems.
- Help maintain client files and ensure documentation is up-to-date.
- Learn and utilise accounting software such as QuickBooks and Xero for data entry.
- Assist with the digital filing and categorisation of financial records.
- Keep internal systems and logs up to date.
- Follow internal processes to ensure accuracy and consistency in record keeping.
- Assist with basic compliance checks and identify missing documentation.
- Provide general support to junior accountants and senior staff on ongoing client work.
- Communicate professionally with clients to request missing information.
- Perform general administrative duties to support the wider accounting team.
Training to be Provided
