ICT Level 3 Information Communications Technician Apprentice
Role Overview
- Provide first-line technical support for IT issues in classrooms, offices, and meeting rooms, including setting up AV/IT equipment.
- Assist with the diagnosis and resolution of hardware, software, and network-related problems.
- Support the installation, configuration, and maintenance of devices, systems, and applications.
- Assist with user account administration and system access management.
- Support routine monitoring, maintenance, and updating of ICT systems.
- Maintain accurate records of support requests, technical activity, and completed work.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders to provide user support and guidance.
- Assist with the deployment of new hardware, software, and digital services.
- Contribute to maintaining a secure and efficient ICT environment.
- Support the IT Team with routine system checks and maintenance activities.
- Assist with the management and deployment of devices across the School.
- Help maintain technology equipment inventories and documentation.
- Support IT projects and technology improvement initiatives as directed.
- Assist in identifying opportunities for service improvements.
- Maintain accurate records relating to ICT systems, assets, and support activities.
- Ensure documentation and technical records are updated appropriately.
- Follow established procedures for incident logging, escalation, and resolution.
- Provide assistance and administrative support for ICT projects.
- Support the implementation of new technologies, systems, and services.
- Assist colleagues with technology-related initiatives where appropriate.
Training to be Provided
As part of the Level 3 Information Communications Technician Apprenticeship, you will:
- Attend structured off-the-job training delivered by Solveway Apprenticeships.
- Complete portfolio evidence linked to your workplace activities.
- Participate in regular progress reviews.
- Work closely with a designated workplace mentor.
- Prepare for and successfully complete the End Point Assessment.
- Develop technical competence in IT support, systems maintenance, troubleshooting, and professional workplace behaviours. King Edward VI School will provide meaningful ICT responsibilities, access to relevant systems and tools, protected time for training, and ongoing coaching and feedback.
