Role Overview

  • Record and maintain accurate financial transactions in the accounting system.
  • Prepare and process invoices, receipts, payments, and journal entries.
  • Reconcile bank statements and supplier/customer accounts.
  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
  • Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Maintain organized financial records and documentation.
  • Assist with payroll processing and statutory filings where applicable.
  • Prepare VAT, tax, and other regulatory documentation as required.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing requested information.
  • Monitor outstanding balances and follow up on overdue accounts.
  • Perform data entry with a high level of accuracy.
  • Assist with budgeting and expense tracking.
  • Carry out general administrative duties related to the finance department.
  • Perform any other accounting duties assigned by management.

Training to be Provided

This apprenticeship provides comprehensive on-the-job training, working alongside experienced accountants. You will also undertake a structured off-the-job training programme, typically delivered by a dedicated training provider, covering the Assistant Accountant (Level 3) apprenticeship standard. This will include Solveway bootcamps, formal qualifications, and dedicated study time to develop your theoretical knowledge and practical skills in accounting principles, financial reporting, and relevant software. You will receive mentorship and support throughout your apprenticeship journey.
