Role Overview

  • Assisting with the preparation of accounts for a variety of businesses and organisations.
  • Supporting the audit team with client audits, including checking financial records and documentation.
  • Processing financial information accurately using accounting software.
  • Assisting with bookkeeping, bank reconciliations and VAT returns.
  • Preparing working papers and maintaining accurate client records.
  • Learning to analyse financial data and identify any discrepancies.
  • Communicating professionally with colleagues and clients.
  • Ensuring all work is completed in line with accounting standards and confidentiality requirements.
  • Developing knowledge of accounting, audit and tax through a fully funded AAT apprenticeship.
  • Building strong organisational, problem solving and attention to detail skills while working alongside experienced accountants.

Training to be Provided

This apprenticeship will give you hands on experience across a wide range of accountancy and audit activities within a busy accountancy practice. Working alongside experienced professionals, you'll develop practical skills in preparing accounts, supporting audits, bookkeeping and financial reporting, while studying towards a nationally recognised AAT qualification. You'll gain valuable experience using industry leading accounting software, build confidence working with clients, and develop the knowledge and skills needed for a successful long term career in accountancy and finance, with opportunities to progress within the firm.

Desired Skills

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 A Levels (or equivalent), with strong grades preferred.
  • GCSE Maths at Grade 5 or above is highly desirable.
  • GCSE English Language at Grade 5 or above is highly desirable.
  • A genuine interest in pursuing a career in accountancy, finance and audit.
  • A commitment to successfully complete the Level 3 Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship (AAT).
