Starting on 6th April 2021 the apprenticeship incentives, announced by Rishi Sunak, have the potential to transform the opportunities for new employees and employers alike. The apprenticeship incentive payments provide a much-needed cash boost for businesses, while creating some fantastic opportunities and rewarding careers for learners.
As an employer, you’re now eligible if you take on new apprentices between now and the 30th September 2021.

Solveway are continuing to onboard apprentices on a regular, often rolling-intake, basis. Straight after recruitment, apprentices will receive a full 12-week onboarding programme delivered remotely, from our first-rate qualified trainers.
All our apprentices have the full support of a dedicated work coach, who is there to support both employer and apprentice, each step of the way. There is very little input required from you during this time
All employers need to create an apprenticeship service account to get funding to pay for apprenticeship training and assessment costs. This is easy to do and Solveway are on hand to help advise you. You can register for an incentive payment after you add new apprentices to your apprenticeship service account, and can apply until 31st October 2021.
You can only apply for new apprentices who joined your organisation from now until 30 September 2021. This includes if you recruit apprentices who have been made redundant.
You cannot apply for an existing employee who joined your organisation before 1 August 2020, even if they started an apprenticeship after this date.
There are 2 equal instalment payments for each apprentice. The first payment is after an apprentice completes 90 days of their apprenticeship and the second is after 365 days.
To receive the full payment, the apprenticeship must last for at least one year.
Payments are made by Bacs on the 14th working day of the month. It usually takes 3 working days to process.
After you apply, you can view the estimated payment dates for each apprentice in your apprenticeship service account.
The payment is different to apprenticeship levy funds (which is payable by UK employers with an annual pay bill of more than £3million), so you can spend it on anything to support your organisation’s costs. For example, on uniforms, your apprentice’s travel or their salary. You do not have to pay it back.
